I remember in our senior year we had a paper drive and I drove an older Corvair convertible. We loaded that car so full that 2 girls were sitting on top of papers to keep them from blowing out as the top was down. I just didn't plan for the fact that the brakes may not hold with all the extra weight and we were rolling down the steep hill towards the Laurel Pool and the ONE lane bridge. There were a few tense moments - but thank God nobody was coming the other way.....
Most St. Patrick's Days are not that cold...... And it's coming soon!!!!!!
I've been reluctant to use facebook, etc. I know there are securities built in, however, we've had a few students in our program who are a little unbalanced and we have dismissed them from the program. Don't want to make it easier for them to find me.
AACC - would that be something like the All American Cheerleading Camp?????
Facebook does have its drawbacks - I just try to be careful what I put up there, then I need to keep in check what other put up there on their facebook about me.. like picture!!!! I just saw that I was "tagged" in photos from our New York City trip. That could be scary :-))) Can't get on from work, so I'll just have to wait until I get home.
OMG-cheerleading camp! Hadn't thought about that in years. Yikes! We had to have the same color shorts and shirts. I remember a forever car ride--hours and hours. Was the camp here in Michigan, at Silver Lake? Or was it somewhere in New York? I remember being sore from head to toe, and never really being able to do the splits. Oh well...remember the uniforms we had. Quite cutting edge. Just a little above our knees. Now the skirts are so short they barely cover the b---! We were hot stuff! Fun to think back on those times.
Hi Guys,
Cheerleading Camp - Silver Bay, New York. VERRRRRYYYY cold lake water for swimming and early mornings. I believe that was the ACC American Cheerleading Conference. (I loved those hand made uniforms - the checked ones - HA!) AACC (Aardvak Amalgemated Confetti Corporation) - junior year dance committee - Kathy Plazak's garage - I think.
WOW!!! What a memory!! I had totally forgotten about that...... I was talking to Linda Baker (Keilbasa) tonight. This whole thing has really gotten people talking!!! That's great....
Trish, Sherry, all. AACC stood for the Aardvark Amalgamated Confetti Corporation. I seem to recall an afternoon spent in Kathy Plazak's basement fabricating a papier mache aardvark for presentation at a pep rally.
OMG!!! I do remember the ardvark..... And as I recall, we weren't quite the shining example for our senior prom either.... In a mall!!!! Three coins in the fountain!!?? What were we thinking hahahaha
I was thinking the cheerleading camp was Lake Placid, NY. I think I still have a cheer patch from there, and I know I stil have my sweater. You know the ones that covered up any shape we may have had :-))) As, yes, those skirts were lovely too :-)) I may even have an old Pallotti uniform.....
Regarding AACC - Mark Buchannon and I were the research and development arm; Sr. Karen was extremely upset when we filled a vacume cleaner's tube with the little circular "dots" taken from 3-hole punches, and blew them all over the gym/multipurpose/lunch room.
I was moonlighting fixing home computer problems back in the 1980-1990's, using AACOMPS as my company name (Aardvark Amalgamated Computer Problem Solvers -- we tame misbehaving PCs) -- it's one of the first in the phone book (after the other AA, of course).
